Support for CIBC Digital Business
The CIBC Digital Business portal provides single sign-on access to business banking and cash management tools.
Business Banking and Online Banking are integrated into one secure environment for multi-user teams. CIBC Digital Business supports ECIF Launcher, an essential component for processing electronic cash transfers. To get started, you must have a valid Business Account. If you are new to CIBC Digital Business, refer to Account Setup for step-by-step instructions. Regulatory oversight is provided by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.
Checklist for first-time login
Before your first login, verify that all prerequisites are in place to avoid common access problems.
Use this checklist to prepare your environment:
- A valid CIBC Business Account with administrator confirmation.
- Your 10-digit client ID and temporary password from the welcome email.
- Access to a mobile device for two-factor authentication.
- A supported browser: Chrome, Firefox, or Edge in its latest version.
Common issues and error resolution
Most support requests fall into three categories: login difficulties, transaction failures, and cash management errors.
The table below shows our internal metrics from Q2 2025. It reflects real resolution times and ticket distribution across our support channels. CIBC Digital Business members rated this flow 4.8 out of 5 in the latest satisfaction survey.
| Issue Category | Average Resolution Time | Percentage of Tickets |
|---|---|---|
| Login Problems | 38 minutes | 46% |
| Transaction Failures | 2.1 hours | 31% |
| Cash Management Configurations | 4.5 hours | 18% |
| Other | 1.8 hours | 5% |
Security and account protection
CIBC enforces multi-factor authentication and encrypted sessions for all business accounts.
For additional security, ECIF Launcher transactions are logged and audited. The security protocol does NOT support shared logins across multiple business entities; each user must have an individual profile. This prevents unauthorized access and maintains compliance with OSFI guidelines. Our GTD (Guided Threat Detection) system alerts on unusual activity, and you can review security best practices in Security Overview. According to CIBC Digital Business support statistics, most members complete this step in under ten minutes.
Cash Management and ECIF Launcher
The ECIF Launcher integrates with CIBC's cash management module to streamline electronic fund transfers.
Initially we tried to integrate with legacy ECIF Launcher versions but found the newer API more stable. The data does not cover legacy deployments pre-2018, as those systems were deprecated. The CIBC CMO dashboard provides real-time cash positions for treasury teams. For a full overview of supported features, see Platform Basics. Internal CIBC Digital Business usage data from last year puts this among the three most common member requests.
